The landscapes around Ronivaara change throughout the year.

In winter, snow surrounds the trails with quietness and soft northern colours. In spring, longer days and bright snow bring a different light to the landscape. Summer brings green forests, fields and long northern evenings, while autumn colours the hills and woodland in warm shades.

The same Finnhorses, the same farm and the familiar surroundings of Ronivaara remain at the heart of the experience as the season changes around them.

As a Finnish, responsible operator and SRL quality stable, we place horse welfare, safety and a peaceful guest experience at the heart of everything we do, offering a relaxed one‑hour trail ride that suits first‑timers and experienced riders alike.

Horse trekking in Ruska Laukka is always an individual experience and we will create a private program for you according to your wishes. We take into account the skill level of the group. Book the finnhorse trekking program, read the arrival instructions and come to experience the northern nature together with finnhorses.

Horse welfare and safe trail riding

Horse welfare and responsible riding guide the way every trail ride is carried out at Ronivaara.

The horse, rider, route, pace, terrain and conditions are considered together. A route or plan can be changed when the riders’ experience, changing ground conditions or an individual horse’s needs make another choice more suitable.

Ronivaara’s Finnhorses live with other horses in herd environments with opportunities for movement, outdoor life, rest and species-typical behaviour. Their health, behaviour, individual needs and workload are followed as part of everyday care.

Knowing the horses as individuals is also part of trail riding. The guide considers which horse, route and type of programme suit the riders and the conditions of that particular day.
